Eddie and the Cherub, dyes on silk
Eddie is my sister-in-law's cat. She sent me a snapshot of him in her birdbath when he was a kitten. The photo was fuzzy so she brought the birdbath to me so that I could photograph it. I added my cymbidium leaves in the background and a pink begonia in the foreground and a Madera slate patio below. Eddie now weighs 20 pounds and no longer fits in the birdbath! In this image I used minimal gutta resist lines and thickened my dyes to paint the slate patio, the details of the birdbath and the impatiens in the background to resemble a watercolor technique.
